This same thing happened to me on Christmas Day. I had only had Lexi for a few days. It looked to me like her insides were coming out. I was so scared. I rushed her to the ER thinking my sweet new pup was dying. Well, with a bit of a smile, they cleaned her all up and clipped her bottom and all was well again. I felt a bit stupid, but how the heck was I supposed to know? Since then, when she gets a bit long back there, and things get messy or stuck, I just put her in the sink and let her soak for a few minutes with a nice back and head massage happening during the soak.
