@redwolf41.... thank goodness you aren't giving up on finding the owner, and that you can understand how the owner may be devastated at this time.

There can be all kinds of reasons why the owner does not seem to be aggressively looking for this pup, and it is important to acknowledge that possibly they just don't know how or can't.

I've heard stories of people being in car accidents, or becoming ill/hospitalized, or leaving their pups in other's care while on vacation.... and the pups get loose and owner's can't search. Thank you for being patient and continuing to look, while also giving this guy comfort and safety.

We can all learn a big lesson from this, and make it easier for our pups to be returned IF they ever get away. Microchipping is a must, a collar with ID is also helpful, and a plan of action for how and where to search including a quickly printed poster with photo, are all important.
