I agree. Also, you may want to try different dishes for water. When I brought Max home, he refused to drink for the 6 hour car ride and then many hours after arriving home. I discovered the problem was he didn't want to drink out of the plastic travel dishes.
As soon as I offered water in a stainless steel bowl, he lapped it up. We use glass now.
I also agree with hand feeding. Max was a little stinker and made me hand feed him for a year. He would perform tricks for his kibble. I sped up the process a little by loading his KONG with the kibble.
Continue feeding the same food the breeder fed. Check her gums for stickness or paleness which can indicate dehydration, and watch for hypoglycemia.
