Maybe someone (attempted) to steal a pup from her home? There has been alot of dognappings going around so that may be why she's apprehensive. If she's nice and you've put your $$$ down do you think there's any way at all she'll let you see him? I would say something like " I understand your caution in letting a stranger into your home, but since I've already put my deposit down I'd like to see the pup in person since there's no way I will be able to make a truly informed decision until I see what type of temperament he has. If you feel uncomfortable with this can we please meet at a neutral location(vets office for example since she probably hasn't done the first shots/wormings)?" Has she given you a receipt for your deposit? I understand how she could be wary but if I were a breeder I couldn't take anyone's $$$ without offering to let them see what they were purchasing and to tell someone "No, you can't see him" after I put a deposit down or even before would make me suspicious. So you've already put your $$$ down on this particular pup...what's making you look into getting the other one? Sorry to get all up in your business lol |
