I am thinking of doing potty pad as well. I also thought about doing litter box training as just scooping and throwing away the pee or poop was the most appealing part. Of course I would like for my dog to be comfortable to eliminate outside as well on occasions in which we are outside. Which I doubt will be a problem. I thought a little harder about the litter box training method and when my pups hair gets longer like show quality. I prefer to not have to worry about excess dirt and mess in her coat. So just something to think about. As far as your dog going onto the edge. One thing that I thought about doing is just getting a little litter box pan and putting the pads inside of that. Which will help with that problem. As I also liked the idea of washable pads. Which I have found at doggie pee pads. com with a reasonable price tag. Hope these suggestions help.
