Yes...Benji hates the leash too but what I have done is bring treats with me. If he walks to the elevator without sitting then he gets a treat. Everyday I try to make him walk a little bit further and he loves it now. Everytime I open my apartment door he starts running down the hallway with me. Oh...one more tip. He is not a fan of his collar but I make sure I put it on him every morning and don't take it off him until bed time. He tries to eat it off and rubs his head along the floor but he has to learn to like it...it is very important for him to wear so - my point is just to be consistent. I can't wait till spring so we can go for long walks in the park! |
