I used the spray from natures miracle, it worked for a couple days on the outside of his playpen pad, then he started ignoring it again. I also had the problem of gizmo tearing up the pads ad eating parts of them. What I started doing was buying the pad holders so its harder for them to pull up, and he has not torn one up. Since :-) were still working on getting him to use the pad outside his playpen, I started rubbing a bit of his own urine on the new pad before putting it in the holder, and it seems to be working slowly, as he has went potty on the one outside his playpen a couple times so far.
He goes perfectly in his playpen on the pad in there and never has an accident there. Since my playpen is quite large ad has a door, I'm thinking later I will start leaving the door open, to see if he will go in there since he likes that one so much, and the outside playpen not so much haha. Overall I think he's doing really well for 11 weeks :-) he's only had one accident in the 3 weeks I've had him, so I think that's pretty good. You might want to try getting the pad holder and the spray, although as the previous op stated it stinks really bad.
I also got another spray from natures miracle I think it's called mark no more, and I plan to spray all my carpet this weekend, hoping he won't like that smell, and maybe then his outside of the playpen pad will smell much more inviting to him :-) |
