More potty pad questions I'm the one trying to use a combination of outside and pads. Here's an update--please advise!
Now that I'm back to teaching, I haul my #$$ out of bed at 5 am and immediately take Scarlett outside where she obediently tinkles. I then feed her. My husband or I let her out sometime between 5:30 and 6:00. Sometimes she poops; sometimes she doesn't. Sometimes we don't find it until later.
Sometime between 11:30 and 1, her dogwalker comes and plays with her or walks her. She tinkles outside and again, sometimes she poops; sometimes she doesn't.
I had originally wanted to train her to go outside 100%, but since I've gone back to work, I leave a potty pad out where she is penned in--my kitchen/breakfast nook area. Yesterday she shredded it. Today I left a fabric one out; it remained untouched and she tinkled on the floor in the kitchen while I was at work. I bought some more of those "pheromone" treated paper pads, put one down tonight, and she tried to eat it.
I definitely cannot rely on any kind of 20 minute after she eats rule for pooping. In fact, she doesn't seem to be much of a night time pooper.
She will be 6 months old Sept. 12, and she weighs 6 pounds and 4 ozs. I understand that she is in the midst of adolescence, so maybe that has something to do with it, but she is so darn smart in every other way!
