The doc says only thing she can do is keep her, watch her, keep her hydrated and out of pain and see if the obstruction moves on its own. She will take more xrays to see if the obstruction moves any. If it doesn't appear that anything will change she can go in through her belly and try to save her that way. There are no guarantees because someone who does endoscopy should really be doing it but she can try her best. Since I can't get to the other docs and can't pay for the other docs my only other option is to have her put to sleep if my vet doesn't try.
The above is the original post about Jazy. This is what most people that initially responded to the thread were reacting to. This post was in the Sick & Injured / Emergencies Talk section where most people are seeking advice. Most reactions were in response to what Jazy's own vet stated, not opinions offered by YorkieTalk posters.
My first vet laughed at most Yorkie Talk ideas also. Thanks goodness I didn't. I insisted that she do a BAT on Lola after reading many YorkieTalk posts in the Sick & Injured section, despite my vet - the professional - telling me she was fine. Lola was diagnosed with a liver shunt that Dr. Tobias repaired shortly thereafter. Lola is alive and well today, thanks to the advice and help of many YT posters. There is a wealth of knowledge to be found among members, if that is what you are seeking. Some you may agree with, some you may not - but this is an open forum and everyone should be allowed to express their opinion. |
There is another forum for people who don't want to hear opinions on their pups' vet care :
Special Thoughts Needed
If a person only wants prayers and friendship, that is the perfect place to post!
Thank you for sharing your story...there are many, many more who have gotten a lot of help from YT who appreciate those who share their stories. I have seen a lot of people get better care for their pups because of that sharing. It boggles my brain that people get into these silly bash fests just because someone has tried to help.
