Gracie had one dew claw that some how they missed when she was a baby. I had it removed when she was spayed. They usually are not as tightly attached as a toe would be. She had no problem with the removal.

It is hard to clip those little claws and they sometimes do get them caught on things. It can be very painful for them to get a dew claw caught on something. As they pull to try to get away it can rip the skin and cause injury.

If you want it removed maybe consider having it done when she is spayed. Gracie's healed very well and there was not even a mark on her foot where it was removed.
