So...when she eats dry food, she doesn't have diahrrhea??
When she eats eggs, are her stools normal??
I am wondering if it's just from the switching of foods, period....not necessarily from canned food...although I do know some dogs don't tolerate canned food well...especially when they are used to dry food. Honeslty, though...there are lots of things that can cause digestive upset. Pancreatitis...gall bladder issues...IBS...that's why it's best to just let the vet help.
I would keep her on the purina she has been on until she goes to the vet. If she can tolerate the eggs without having the runs, try mixing the eggs in the with the purina if she won't eat purina by itself. You can also try wetting the purina down with some warm water and turning it into mush.
Perhaps she has bad teeth and it hurts to eat the dry food. At 11 y.o, if she hasn't had dentals, she could very well have bad teeth...an that's why she prefers soft food. If that's the case...wetting the food down to soften it would help her eat it.
You could also try mixing a small amount of LOW SODIUM chicken broth in with her dry food...and if all the above fails you could try feeding her boiled chicken and rice to get her regulated...NO spices...No sodium, butter, oils...etc.
If you keep switching her...it's just going to lead to more diarrhea. It needs to be a gradual process...but I would rule out any issues with the vet before trying to switch her. At her age, she may need to be on a special diet, so switching her now, and switching her again after the vets is just going to cause her unnecessary digestive upset.
