I vote for neutering. Anesthesia is my least favorite thing to do to my guys, but the statistics are very good. Be sure to do pre-op bloodwork and review the anesthesia protocol with your vet. Many people here have had their tiny Yorkies neutered/spayed.
Keep in mind that dental cleanings with anesthesia will eventually be necessary.
I chose to neuter my boys because I believe the health benefits outweigh the risks. The potential lifestyle benefits also outweigh the risks. Intact males are more likely to run in search of females in heat -- and many die getting hit by cars. There is no guarantee, but neutered males are less likely to mark and hump.
