My boys are brothers from different litters. We brought home Teddy, our younger one, when he was 8 months old. He wanted to eat out Max's bowl and would push Max away.
Like Deb, I separate the bowls by a couple feet. The bowls are also against different vertical surfaces, one against the wall and the other against the end cabinet.
We had to use a babygate divider for the first week. Then we supervised. We still have to keep an eye on them and correct Teddy if he tries to get into Max's bowl.
