If you have the bill even in pieces as long as you have 2/3 of the bill you can go to a bank and it can be exchanged. If it too mutilated that not more then a half or requires special examination to determine its value. It must be mailed or personally delivered to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. You need to include a letter stating the value of the currency and an explanation of how the currency became mutilated.
