We watch her very carefully, the bad stuff she gets is very short lived. It's obvious when she has something she shouldn't because she runs very fast under the table.
The main problem is stuff she finds on the floor, such as a single piece of hair, a little nub from a plastic price tag holder, etc. She should be a vacuum tester.
I'm trying to train my grandmom to keep her purse up. We've spent the past 15 years with dogs who didn't chew anything and now we have one who chews everything.
Most of the time when she gets into a bag it's when something was just bought. Like if grocery bags are on the floor she'll try to poke her head in them to see what she can get, especially the receipt.
The hair band is the kind with fabric around it. She actually tries to pull it out of my hair. The only time she gets it is if I forget and set it down while I'm doing my hair, or if she sneak attacks me.
We've also left stuff on the couch while she was sleeping, to do something quickly 5ft away, and before we get back she'll have stolen something and ran under the table.
The amount of coffee she gets is minimal, maybe an ounce every other week. She makes at least 10 attempts a day to get while it's actually on the table and succeeds about every 10 days.
She's very brazen about it, it doesn't matter if I'm sitting there, she'll dive across my lap for it.
The other coffee drinking yorkie got a lot more coffee than she does.

None of mine steal things, but Westley loves to hide and I swear he's laughing while we run around looking all over for him- he watches and laughs....because he's always somewhere within plain view! |
Lola is an ice addict too, if you get ice you have to give her some. Even if she doesn't want it at the moment you have to give it to her so she can reject it.
The hide and seek bit is very cute

I'm sure it is on purpose.

Omg, that's terrible!!
I told my grandmom about that to try to get her to keep her purse up and she said 'o well, I'll just take it to the bank, they already know I'm not swift.'
I'm glad to hear Henri and Gracie grew out of some of the chewing, hopefully she will too.
She also likes to steal flip flops, it's funny because the shoe is as big as she is.
