They should NOT get larger as the baby matures tho....they will usually close down some, but if they do not close up completely, that is not a positive, clear indication of hydrocephalus. If a lump pushes up into the open font, throbbing, pulsating, etc...THAT is an indication of a build up of intracranial fluid and is indicitive of hydrocephalus. Having an open font does not automatically mean hydrocephalus or the likelyhood or probability of the development of hydrocephalus. I am not taking up for this "breeder's" actions, but I hate to see anyone crucified for something that is considered acceptable in another breed. She should have really educated her buyer on this condition and allowed her to express concerns she may have.

she did say it was normal in long haired chiwawas zoey is I believe 25 percent of chi...maltese....Yorkie...lhasa apso....However she lied about how big it was...and when I went to the vet yesterday and saw that he was alarmed at the size of it I freaked out and he also said it most likely wont close bec it's large but may get smaller...There is no bulging as far as I can tell and the dr would have said something. ..I just would like to add she has two which she also failed to mention then the vet found one on each side he said they will most likely close because they are like half a pea...ahhhhh.
