That sounds like Ichabod, he's fearless, but, big enough (at 8 lbs) to actually do something if he caught anyone.
I don't' know if you're actually interested...
But you need to teach him to "speak" first.
Then when he goes to the door, give him the command,
and praise him when it's performed properly.
For some Dogs, it's like any other Trick, and can be quite a valuable "tool".
I rely very heavily on the security my animals provide for me.
