I think my Lucy is a perfect example of the Yorkshire Terrier. Yet, people question whether she is a "real" yorkie because her tail is intact.

I usually have to explain that the US is one of the hold-out countries that still docks the yorkie's tail. So many people don't seem to realize that the yorkie's tail is cut off by humans - the dog's not born that way.

Also, some people have said, "my, she's a big one!" Lucy is 6 pounds! I also remind them of the breed weight standard. Some people think Yorkies have to weigh 2 or 3 pounds to be legit. Weird ignorance.
