I feel a little more confident being a physical therapist with an orthopedic background. The scary part is none of my patient's have ever been a 6 1/2 lb Yorkie so I shall follow the surgeons advice to the letter.
I am trying to be brave, but my heart does break for her.
I just went though this exact thing with Taka. He had his surgery mid June and he is still trying to walk and put weight on it normally but he isn't limping anymore or crying so I'm very happy that we did the surgery. I was so nervous and scared for him since he is only 5 lbs but they took really good care of him. they kept him at the hospital for about 3 days. they also took his baby teeth out and had him neutered all at the same time :O i didn't want them to do everything because he is so small but they said he would be fine and he was. If you have any questions feel free to ask me
