I'll try to be more calm. those sleepless night are turning me into a monster. I'm just confuse why she is getting worse. She was progressing really well in week 2-3 with me. Although with a couple of accidents here and there, she knows where to go. She's becoming a handful to handle since last week and the week before. Is there a certain stage they will be more rebelious?
As for the potty train, how should I do it? She won't poo when I'm watching. In the past, the moment I catch her squatting down, I will distract her and guide her to the right spot and it works. Now, she won't do it when I'm watching. I suspect she hold on to it until I'm not watching to poo. I don't know how to encourage her to poo in front of me... |
If you're yelling at her when she goes potty, shes associating her bodily functions with being bad. She doesn't know you're yelling because she's not doing it in the right spot, all she knows is that every time she poos she gets yelled at. So she'll do it when youre not around, poor thing.
You have to start using positive reinforcement. Giving her treats when she uses the pad. Whenever she has an accident, just tell her "no" in a neutral tone of voice and take her to her pad and tell her "Go potty" here. Whenever she's peeing, repeat "Go Potty" as she's doing it, she'll soon know that "Go Potty" means peeing on the pad.
Have patience! My Yorkie goes to the pad most of the time, but sometimes he has accidents. They are very young and just learning.
Also learn the signs she wants to go potty, usually they start sniffing around and going in circles, as soon as you see her do that, take her to the pad.
