I've heard that cuddling them when they are frightened reinforces the fear rather than trying to get them to get used to it or ignore it. Don't know for sure, as our first instinct is to comfort.
My Meika has become frightened when the gardeners use the weed eater and leaf blower. She shakes and hovers around my feet and has to be touching me. She is 5, and this never bothered her before, just in the past few months. She is the most outgoing of my 4, so it surprises me. |
