Breeders are not allowed to post reviews of themselves. We will be installing additional filters in the future, depending on need and demand, and if it becomes an issue. Breeders will be allowed to post a single rebuttal to every review, to eliminate a bad-mouthing and bashing by competing breeders. At the beginning we will carefully monitor and moderate the reviews, to make sure they are not abused (similar to the way posts are moderated on this forum). Thanks for an intelligent question ! |
But what would stop breeders or their friends/family from posting fake good reviews, and/or those people posting bad about other breeders? The problem is rampant on Yelp and they have a huge database of users, many staff members/mods, and their "algorithm" all together still does not work. I would assume your site is smaller than Yelp, how can the review filter work better?
But the most concerning part of your site to me is there is no screening for these breeders to advertise, and normally advertising to sell an inanimate object would make sense to pay for ads, but these are living breathing creatures we are talking about. Don't you think you owe it to the animals that there is at least some type of screening? Really I think THAT would make your site better in actuality. But in reality, real reputable breeders don't
need to advertise, and I think that is the fatal flaw for your site.
