We were sitting there and my friend noticed our painting of the skyline of Vancouver, Canada (dh's home). He said "How about Couver, short for Vancouver?" and I loved it. I love that no other dogs have the same name as him and it is easy to pronounce.

With Khloe, I did the opposite... I kind of regret choosing such a common name, but I sometimes wish I had spelled it Chloe so Couv and Khloe would have the same starting letter. I tried thinking of more city names for her, but couldn't come up with anything feminine enough that had meaning to us. I chose Khloe because her mom's name was Kelly and she had a really hard time giving Khloe up, so I thought it would be nice to give Khloe the K from her momma
What's funny to me after reading this is that I realize I have been saying Couver's name wrong in my head when I read it. I didn't know it was short for Vancouver. I was thinking it was pronounced like "cover".

Love reading all these stories. Deb - my last dog/heart dog was a pom and her name was Jasmine. I always called her JazzyFace. I named her after Jasmine Guy (the actress on Different World back in the 90s). I thought she was so pretty and I loved her name.
