I would try to feed a good/better quality food. Tinned is better as it contains more water, which is important for dogs with UTI. If you're feeding a dry food, you can compensate by adding water to the kibble. Also you can add a low sodium chicken broth to the water to encourage him to drink more, or ice cubes if he likes ice.
You may also want to consider home cooking... it can be done in batches and frozen. |
very good point... I do make broth and save it to put on kibble. I was also told by the vet to save the water from tuna cans and put on the kibble..it should not have salt etc and adds flavor and helps with water needs.
