I have a dog that has kidney issues... I agree the hill's in can form is very expensive. I would feed it to Sammy and do without something else if I choose to but I don't like it for other reasons...so I homecook. Ask the vet about the hill's dry food (kibble) it is a bit less and you don't have the waste of spoiled food as you may in the can . Also ask your vet about a receipe to meet your dogs needs and suppliment with the kibble.
