Did someone answer your question? To determine if he has a UTI they will test a urine sample. It's a simple test, but more difficult to get the sample! Sometimes vets will do the test without you brining him in as long as he's acting normal. They can get the results and then decide if they need to see him. The test is less than $20. They might want to see him but you can ask if they will give you this option. If you do need to get the sample, I use those throw away ziplock storage containers. I wait til he squats and shove it under him. Then I pop on the top and put it in a plastic bag.
Just give him lots of water. Keep track of how many times he pees today and if it looks like it's hurting him at all. If he does have UTI they will prescribe antibiotics. It's unlikley but it could also be nighttime incontinence issues. There is a very safe inexpensive drug for that as well. It's very likely he just drank too much and had an accident. |
