Teddy got out once and chased the UPS truck. We are very lucky we still have Teddy.
Training to stay at the door is important, but it isn't 100% reliable, especially when humans fail to give the command (like my dad did).
We put up baby gates to block access to the halls that lead to the doors. It's a nuisance (and great exercise) stepping over them, but the security is worth it to me.
