Think of it this way...whenever people *do* use a smiley in a sarcastic / mean / immature / confrontational / triggering way -- it really makes them look like a total a-hole, in my opinion. So, if that's how they want to appear, who are we to argue with their opinion of themselves?
There is funny well-meaning sarcasm, and then there is mean NASTY sarcasm. And in this case, I'm talking about The Nasty we see here on occasion.
Just for the record, I always mean my smileys with their literal meaning, not their opposite/sarcastic meaning. |
Yes! If I'm feeling snarky, I usually stick to the
one. That's pretty straightforward about being sarcastic. I just hate it when people are being obviously sarcastic/mean and use
and then totally deny they are being sarcastic.
