I do have an xpen, but I am at home all day long and don't really want to have it out since it's so big and he'll just cry for me to let him out. I do use the xpen pen when we have to be out for a few hours and I LOVE it. And he will always potty on his pads when we have him in it. He's so weird. |
So he's peeing when you come back into the livingroom, and not away from sight while you're gone? How much pee is it? Some dogs are submissive urinators, it's a sign of submission and they'll pee sometimes while in the presence of their owners or other dogs who are 'king' over them.
In puppies, it can be excited urination - which is not the same as submissive urination, and they usually grow out of it...they get all happy to see you return and pee. With puppies this usually doesn't happen (when it's excited urination) unless they had to go prior to seeing you anyway, and just hadn't done it yet. Since you said this only happens every week and a half or so, I'm thinking this is probably excited urination because his bladder was full and he spaced going beforehand.
If I misread your post - then disregard all of the above.
