When your dog does a behavior you want to stop (like barking, jumping, humping, etc.) give the command "stop it" or NO, or whatever you choose, and give one short blast from the can within a few feet of him (not on him).

The sound of the compressed air will startle him and some sprays also include a scent of pheramones that is calming. It will likely scare both of them, and hopefully distract him from his naughty behavior.

Once he stops, you can tell him to come, sit, and receive praise or a treat if you wish.

I tried this for my barkers, and was amazed how they stopped, and sat quietly after that. Now I don't even have to spray it, I just say quiet, and show them the can. It is much quieter around here now.
