Just musing. It's late and can't sleep. That post about a retraction coming sounded rather militant in tone somehow or is it just me? I wonder if OP was made to sign an agreement that the return of the dog was conditional and if she didn't retract her original statement and refuse to never say another word against them, she wouldn't get her dog and the rescue would sue her or squash the agreement with the pro bono vet work. And, I wonder if the dog is just fostered back to her and not really returned without conditions where they could reclaim it if she talks more or something. They sure told a lot about her to Donna, a stranger, that wasn't that flattering to the OP. Wonder if they also agreed not to say any more to the public about the owner themselves as part of any agreement? It just seems something good and kind happened here but also rather arbitrary and cold.

Don't people who surrender dogs have any protection against the rescue disclosing information about the previous owner's situation at all?
