With regard to the chickens eating their own poop - we have chickens (Ameraucanas, Cochins and Brahmas) and they've never eaten poo...grass, crickets, bugs, worms, dandelions, oyster shells, layer feed, veggies, fruits and some plants - yes, but never poop. Maybe we just have polite chickens.  | Or free range chickens not kept in tiny cages.....
