IF/when there is a severe allergic reaction that's progressing and you're not in the immediate vicinity of a vet, you absolutely should give Benadryl asap...it can often mean the difference btwn life and death.

Its not Callie who can't take it, it is Sammy my moms Yorkie. Callie is not taking any meds right now so she is good although benadryl makes her grumpy. I think emergency's is a little different. I just meant because a lot of people are seeing seasonal allergies and wanting to go straight to using benadryl with out consulting a vet first so I just wanted to put it out there that is does in fact interact with other medicines so care does need to be taken when using it.
