I would not follow this advice if my dog were having an allergic reaction - at which point their airway could entirely close. They could die.

IF/when there is a severe allergic reaction that's progressing and you're not in the immediate vicinity of a vet, you absolutely should give Benadryl asap...it can often mean the difference btwn life and death.

The correct route is really this: check with your vet if Benadryl is safe for your dog in the case of a severe allergic reaction, even if the dog is on meds that interact with other meds.

Taylor - you should really check with your vet about this bc what if Callie is allergic to bees and gets stung, what would you do?
