Default is your dog sensitive to special needs?

My grandmother will turn 90 in November (God willing) and she absolutely LOVES Huey. Why? Because he will sit quietly on her lap forever. She can't hear much of anything, she can't see hardly at all (she asked who I was today because she couldn't see me and knew we had folks from out of town coming in...usually she can fake it as long as she knows who is supposed to be there) and she can never remember Huey's name right off, but she knows she wants that little dog on her lap. Everyone who has a yorkie or silky knows that if they are gonna be on your lap, it has to be their decision, not ours. Huey absolutely will not tolerate being held for extended periods of time unless he initiates it. HE chooses where, who and when to cuddle, but when my grandmother asks for him and I hand him over, he will sit quietly on her lab and tolerate it without so much as a wiggle. She is the ONLY person he will do this for. He sat on her lap today for an hour. She was thrilled and I ignored his pleading "help me" looks. (...avoiding eye contact...I don't see you...)
Out of towners were amazed since they had already attempted to hold him unsuccessfully, but he has done this with her and ONLY her since he was a pup.
