What's really crazy about them eating lamb in NZ is the lambs are their pets before they slaughter them. I felt bad for this cute guy I saw by a gas station near Manapouri. I was talking to his owner and he was saying how good the little guy was with his kids and how much they loved him, to which I replied "Oh good, so you won't slaughter him then!". To which the guy replied "Nope, we're gonna eat him!"
