I know this is an old thread but I'm glad it was revived. Good topic.

After what happened to Benji last year (getting lost while IN a hotel room and IN a closed bathroom), I think wearing a collar with tags all the time is so important. Microchipping is important, too, but Benji wasn't - and he was found and his owner was contacted because he had a collar with tags on.

I'm still getting Mandie used to this idea.

Breakaway is the way to go with collars. Hands-down.
