Again, not saying Fletcher has a shunt, just saying that labs are great but cannot totally be relied upon. We suspect Teddy has IBD based on symptoms...the specialist does not want to scope and biopsy him so we are treating his symptoms and fortunately it is working so far. He is on Hills Z/D food and Pepcid.
Kind of like my Tibbe. Bloodwork fine until BAT done and they were high so we had a scintigraphy/sono and shunt ruled out and likely MVD suspected and since he's been on a half-hepatic and half-GI-friendly diet, no more spitting up or diarrhea or lethargy. He's a terror now. He really used to spit up little bits of yellow bile 3 or 4 times a month, have anorexia that day, half-diarrhea and was lethargic, burped a lot and reversed sneezed from time to time. Since he was treated with Metronidazole for 10 days for his temporary gastritis from his MVD and started on his new diet, he's back to completely symptom free and all lethargy GONE.

I pray you can get to the bottom of your little one's problems. It's so hard on the dog to not get to live his great life and feel bad and it's almost as hard on the mommie sitting by and watching.
