When I moved to NW Arkansas a couple years ago, I was warned right away to always look before stepping out because for some reason they like to come onto a porch.
Thank goodness no one was hurt. What a good good dog to stay, when told to do so!
My Libby would do just the opposite! She would chase ANYTHING if she got a chance. She'd be a gonner for sure.
