My feelings on x-ray is that it is a personal choice. I don't condemn anyone if they chose not to do it. I have been raising yorkies for over 16 years and have never had one x-rayed. I do think that for the very small females it is necessary but then I don't recommend anyone breeding females under 5 lbs. The x-ray is not accurate on number of pups if the bitch is carrying a very large litter and it is not really accurate as to telling if the female will be able to pass the pup. So many things can go wrong during delivery so regardless of an x-ray or not we need to be prepared to go to the vets at the first sign of a problem.
Lol, your vet must not of delivered many yorkie litters because a lot can go wrong as state by Yorkiemom1. The male does not determine the size of the pups, the female does. Most likely your female will do fine but she could have problems even though she is a bigger girl. Just be prepared.
Have you delivered pups before? When I deliver pups I help the mom as much and I can and I cut the cords on the pups.
