I agree that he sounds like something was disagreeable when his face was being groomed and that has made him skittish. I do groom Huey myself, mostly. I have given up the toenail/feet fight, so I have a groomer that I take him to just for his clean feet (feet clipped very close, silky-style) and nails. Everything else I do myself. The first year, I had to take him to a groomer to be evened up a couple of times
but with experience I have become much better and faster and I think he looks pretty good. Good luck with the grooming. Trial and error, and the hair DOES grow back.
