It'd be safe as long as she doesn't lick it (even then, it may be no big deal to lick, but since I don't know for sure - I'd say only put it in areas she can't reach). They also make Benadryl 'sticks' that contain a liquid with a little sponge tip - this is more readily absorbed into the skin as compared to the cream.
