Most local vets are much like a family doctor, or what used to be called a general practitioner. You can't take what they say about what breed your dog is real seriously unless they have some personal experience of their own researching the breed.
Of course 5lbs at two months of age is kind of big but you have to look at other charasteristics as well. If you think your pup looks like a Yorkie and that is all that matters to you then just forget about what the vet said and maybe find a new a new one. |
I am generally
very pleased with my vet office-2 of the 3 graduated from Auburn (only the best vet school in the country) but almost died the other day when I had Huey in for his annual checkup and mentioned to the examining vet (OBTW, the only NON-Auburn grad...) when she said how healthy he was, that I was very lucky, since he was a mix from a byb and I had absolutely NO genetic background on him...and she said "those are usually the healthiest, anyway"

I counted to ten, held my tongue and thanked her for the positive report of his health.
