Seriously, first and foremost we are all here to try to help and not a one of us are without mistakes and not a one of us, that I am aware of, have a vet degree. When Lil Sis made a mistake, you kindly pointed that out. When LilAnnCamp came back and stated she made a mistake, as well (which she never had to even do, btw), she gets a lecture?
Also, this below statement in particular - is super condescending.
OP - Praying for your pup and sorry this thread got taken off course. Everyone here just loves these pups and wants to help. Keep us updated ok? |
Personally, I find YOUR post super condescending. Funny that you think you should come to this thread and try to berate me when all you had to do if you felt it was out of line is to report it.
The OP did not use much in the way of initials when she posted her pup's condition .. she was crystal clear and wrote out protein losing ENTEROPATHY. She wanted a diet and she was given at the start a one word answer...and it was a prescription food that honestly should only be prescribed by a vet. LATER on the person came back and suggested a vet.
I am NOT going to apologize to YOU or ANYONE else for giving GOOD INFORMATION THAT MAY SAVE THE LIVES OF PUPS. The advice was not correct and if followed could cause harm. I tried to say that politely but I was met with much defensiveness which lends me to believe the person did not learn a lesson. Giving such advice really could be taken as practicing veterinary medicine without a license. I did not go that far in my posts, but now that you wish to come at me I am....posting advice is a tricky thing when you are dealing with a SICK PUP. Not something to guess at which is actually what was done.
I was attacked recently for telling someone to go to a vet...I was not helpful/

Now I am being attacked for daring to try to stop someone from giving advice so freely that someone COULD READ ON THIS FORUM AND FOLLOW CAUSING THE DEATH OF THEIR PUP.
I stand by this: If you want to post advice in the sick and injured forum, I DO think you should have a clue what you are talking about. I have long felt this forum actually should not be here because many people are looking for free vet advice and it is scary that some people think they can give it. BUT the forum is here and IF I know a condition well you best believe I will share my knowledge and experience...and MOST times advise that a person seek the advice of a vet.
That someone came back later and suggested a vet did not change that first post and that of another person who also said it was the same condition and that was the food suggested for her pup. The bottom line, the advice was given as if the person was IN THE KNOW and clearly she was not. AND rather than just say "I was wrong", she continued to defend it. What I said in that second post is EXACTLY what needed to be said...either continue to defend it or LEARN from it. Clearly she has not learned because now she has you here posting. Good grief this is not middle school...and this IS a serious topic.
Why YOU came along to stir this debate up is interesting, but nothing surprises me on this forum. This is childish and immature at best.
AND lastly...for you to strike out and say how sorry you are that the thread is off course when YOU are REALLY TAKING IT THERE is almost hilarious...but oh so sad. It should have been left ALONE. If you had an issue you could have handled it another way.
