I'm not so good at crock pot cooking either, so mine is stored somewhere in the garage.

The foil covered oven method works so well to get meat tender but still on the bone, but you have to monitor it and cook almost 3 hrs., then open up and glaze the sauce a little with the broiler. Apple juice in the bottom of the pan helps steam in a mild sweetness, or my daughter dumps a can of pineapple chunks over them. Go lightly on the sauce and serve extra sauce on the side for those who like more. (just sayin, in case you try again).

The type of ribs & quality also makes a difference in the outcome. I love the baby back ribs from Costco.
