Default Breeding every heat or not....thats the ?.

Ok, bottom line, I know what I think is right by my own research and studies is what matters but I really am searching to see what other breeders think on this. I have been told time and time again, (even before I really got into breeding) that It's not ok, to breed your bitch on every heat. (even if it's just once a year) BUT, for the last 2 years or so..I've been told different by my vet and quit a few other breeders since I've reached out to other breeders. I've been told it's healthier for the mama. So, what do you guys think? if done responsibly of course, is it ok to breed every heat as long as it's only once a year? my females only go into heat every 10-11 months... so naturally I bred my first yorkie 3 times before I didn't again, and then the one heat I didn't, she got sick. scared me to death. I took her to my awesome vet and they told me exactly this, if she's not getting bred (since she's your breeder) then get her fixed. otherwise her body will "freakout", as they put it, and she will end up getting sick and it's not good for her. So she is now fixed and in a great home with her baby! anyhow, this is just a general ? and I can see that this topic can become possibly hostile and i'm not looking for that. I am just looking for the factual answers on what other great breeders are thinking on this. Thankyou!
