I live in Redneck Central, Canada (Edmonton, Alberta) and walk her 3-4 times a day. I have only had a few smart comments all directed towards the dog, not me. Personally I don't care. I love my dog, she makes me happy, and I am a dog lover in general no matter what breed or size.
My girlfriend was at a gas station a few weeks ago and an obnoxious, lifted diesel truck pulled up with a trailer in tow. She said a big burly guy got out and she saw a little Yorkie sitting in the cab on the console lid. She waited for him to come out of the gas station to ask about the dog, and sure enough, it was his companion and he brought her to work with him all the time. That is awesome!
I think a true dog lover doesn't care. It is a dog. Just a smaller one.
Plus, females love them. So if your friend is single, it could work out well. |
That's so cool! I love that

. And you're absolutely right.
