Puppy Teeth Lacey will be 7 months old on June 7. She still has almost all of her puppy teeth. Her adult teeth in the back are beginning to come in. I noticed two of them starting to come through Friday and this morning, they appear to be all the way in. But the puppy teeth are still there. This seems to be bothering her as she keeps opening her mouth (like yawning) and smacking her lips. She is not eating hard food at all. Just picks up a kibble and lets it drop from her mouth. She will eat soft food. She will chew her toys on the right side, but avoids the left side from what I can tell. I made a vet appointment for this evening just to make sure nothing is infected in her mouth. Is it normal for them to act this way when getting their adult teeth? I really wanted to wait until she was 8 months old to get any remaining baby teeth pulled when she is being spayed. At this rate, it looks like the baby teeth aren't going anywhere. I just hate her being uncomfortable. |
