When we brought Princess Sophie home she was a very slow eater as well. For a while she wouldn't eat out of her bowl so I hand fed her for a time. I think when they are very little, they need to be coaxed. We always had dry kibble available and 3 times/day we added some canned and some chicken to the dry with a little water.

I personally would stay away from Purina food of any kind. They don't have a good reputation with anyone except those who really don't know a lot about good dog food. I mean no disrespect to your breeder as ours was doing the exact same thing and adding rice cereal (a real no-no) to make her gain weight. It's just that some breeders aren't as up to snuff about food as other YT'ers. There are several really good dog foods out there and you want your pup to have a good healthy start. I would recommend checking out threads with information about dog foods. That will help you and your pup!

Good luck and congrats on your new addition to your family!!!
