Default ? for those experienced with belly bands

I have a 2 year old biewer yorkie male who was not neutured until about 8 months when we adopted him from the breeder...he was used as a sire so he was very much testosterone driven LOL....in other words he liked to pee all over my house!!!!

if i had to do over i would have gotten a puppy because he was already very much so into the habit of peeing and marking all over the place that it has been such a pain to break him of it!! we do have him peeing outside about 70% of the time now but i've just taken to crating during the day with no belly band on to let him air out and be "normal"..

dad takes him out for a pee/poo, walk, water and to eat about 3 times a day while i'm at work and up until now we had been trying the belly band but i think i was leaving them on him too long before and he was getting really gross "down there"

the last 2 days though as a last resort to NOT hate my dog and be exhausted i've decided to try them again now that he's reliably going outside about 70% of the time...they have helped alot and since he's going outside more reliably now he's only having accidents maybe once or twice a day now....i just make sure to wipe him down with a baby wipe after i take the pad off him at night to keep him clean and bathe him once a week so he doesn't get yucky

he's mostly white and black and i hate the gross brown color that the belly band was turning his pretty fur i hope doing it this way his fur will stay white this time....before i was kind of relying on them a little too much and probably not changing it as often as i should have but that's all over now that he's mostly going outside now

any suggestions on what i can do to prevent his fur from turning brown because of the band
